DILENIA TORRES
Dilenia Torres, is a resilient woman, who initiated a life-changing journey when she arrived to the United States from the Dominican Republic at the age of 13. Embarked an early career in the supermarket industry at the age of 16 starting part-time work at her brother’s supermarket after school; she not only overcame the initial challenges but excelled in her studies. Graduating from college with a Bachelors degree marked a pivotal moment, in propelling her towards entrepreneurship. With determination, she bought her first supermarket in 1999, transforming challenges into steppingstones for success. Dilenia stands as a testament to the power of resilience, ambition, dedication and hard work.
Earned her Bachelors degree in Hotel and Business Administration from the CUNY-New York City College of Technology. Upon graduation she explored the Hoteling industry through a threemonth internship in the Gran Almirante hotel in Santiago Dominican Republic. But her passion for the supermarket Industry brought her back to the career she truly wanted to pursue.
Family is Dilenia’s strongest and most valuable asset. Dilenia is among the youngest of 15 siblings with parents that were married for almost 60 years. She comes from a hard-working family where she followed her older brother Elido Torres’ footsteps to where she is today. Dilenia is the proud single mother of three children. Two amazing young ladies and a son are the strength that propel her to move forward and be successful every day.
