HILDA ESTEVEZ NEWS 12 METEOROLOGIST
Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, Hilda was always curious about the weather as a child. She often questioned weather conditions and pursued her passion for the sciences, acquiring her degree in Applied Meteorology with a concentration in Broadcasting Media and a minor in Air Traffic Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida.
In her career as an on-air, broadcast meteorologist, Hilda keeps the public informed about weather-related conditions throughout the country, New Jersey, New York and Connecticut as a News 12 Meteorologist. She utilizes scientific principles to explain, observe, and forecast the Earth’s atmospheric phenomena to notify viewers of how the weather will affect their day on weekend mornings for the Tri-State region and weekday noon newscasts on News 12 New Jersey.
Prior to joining News 12 in October 2020, Hilda was a part of the Telemundo Abilene where she served as evening lead meteorologist and CBS affiliate, KTAB as weekend meteorologist. She also worked for Good Morning America, WABC as weather producer.
In keeping close to values instilled at a young age, she mindfully enjoys participating with organizations focused on inspiring, empowering, celebrating females and young scientists, such as The Liberty Science Center, Strengthen Our Sisters in New Jersey. Hilda is honored and grateful to emcee for a second time at the NSA’s Women’s Forum in 2024. Lastly, her husband Billy Estevez and brothers John, Robin Estevez are members of NSA.
