Carlos was raised in a retail family so he knew the direction of where he wanted his career to head but he never imagined it would be in the supermarket industry. His parents owned a carpet and flooring store in New Jersey, where he was born and raised. Carlos always thought he would go into the flooring business but his father retired and sold his stores. While working for Xerox, Carlos met his wife Yvette, who’s parents owned a C-Town Supermarket in Hackensack New Jersey. They were engaged within a year and Carlos started working with them at the store. Carlos and Yvette then purchased a C-Town Supermarket of their own in Hoboken, New Jersey. Within that time Yvette and Carlos had their two children; Demi and Ethan. A few years later they sold their store and moved to Florida. In 1999, they purchased National Supermarket with Yvette’s parents.
Carlos has always been very active in this industry. He has been on the IGA Ad committee since 2001, NSA Board Member and Florida Chapter Vice President since 2011, and Board of Director of Associated Grocers from 2012-2017. In 2016, he started Lions Sales and Marketing, and now Carlos is involved on both sides as Retailer and Vendor to the supermarket industry.
He can not wait to see where his next endeavor leads him, but he guarantees it’ll have something to do with the supermarket industry.
