Originally incorporated in 1961, Porky remains a family owned business with the second and third generations working side-by-side as we continue to grow into the future.
Our company’s primary business for the last 50 years has been the servicing of independent retailers on the East Coast, distributing commodity meat, seafood, packaged meat and now deli to our customers. But, Porky goes far beyond just distributing products; we offer access to a large multi-talented field team to help merchandise cases and do in-store setups, provide seminars, and so much more.
Our mission remains to service, supply and help our customers become more profitable in any way we can.
In addition to the East Coast distribution business, Porky operates a trading division with offices in 10 different cities nationwide that do business both domestically and internationally. In the past eight years, Porky has also aggressively expanded into food service on both the East and West Coasts of the country. Global Protein Group operates on the West Coast headquartered in Irvine, CA and Vrola, along with Tidal Seafood, operate out of production facilities in South Amboy, NJ.
As Porky grows, we are reminded of the importance of being able to give back and help the communities that have helped make us successful. We help to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars every year to contribute to a multitude of programs. The NSA has been a tremendous partner in helping us to be able to make these contributions. Since the NSA’s inception in 1989, Porky is proud to have been there side-by-side, growing with its members, many of whom have become close friends and in some cases family.
We are honored to be selected as the 2018 NSA Company of the Year and for the second time in just 4 years! The hard work of the NSA members and especially the NSA leadership team has inspired us to continue to help in any way we can to further the growth of this incredible organization. From the NSA Cares to the NSA scholarship program, we love what you are able to do for the community both here in the NY Metro Area and abroad.
