Dear Friends:

It is a great pleasure to welcome everyone to the National Supermarket Assoeiation‘s
Annual Gala.

During these challenging times. New York City remains focused on creatingjobs.
spurring investment, and establishing the conditions for long-ten11 growth across the live
boroughs and beyond. Small businesses. especially. provide the heartbeat ofour economy. and
we want all of them to thrive and hire more people. That is why we are proud to applaud the
National Supermarket Association. which, for more than two decades. has represented
independent supennarket owners up and down the East Coast. And in our efforts to bring more
fresh food to all our neighborhoods, we are grateful for the NSA’s sustained commitment to both
its entrepreneur members and the increasingly influential Hispanic customers they serve.

On behalfofall New Yorkers. I offer my best wishes for a wonderful evening and
continued success.

Sincerely,
Michael R. Bloombcrg :
Mayor
